I just bought a pair of old SP-X7700's - they sound nice, but I suspect the tweeters are dead. I can put my ear against them at low volume and hear nothing (at higher volumes, I can't get that close).
How to test them? I've only had Bose 901's in the past, and decided I need to try something more conventional, so I'm not familiar with how tweeters function, but I assume I should be able to tell when they're working.
And, what can I replace them with? How do I find suitable replacements (assuming identical parts are not available).
