Thank You BeatleFred for your helpful respond. I got the service manual for the repair tech but was told it was so badly tampered with (probably from the previous owner) that it's beyond his ability to fix it. He had to send it to a specialist to rebuild the tuner section: Indeed I read it is a very excellent tuner and extremely attractive looking too. BTW, would appreciate any recommended Sansui integrated amp to match.

The TU-717 is an excellent tuner, one of the most popular models that Sansui ever made, so its well worth fixing (unless you want to buy a working one on Ebay with no problems, but that'll cost about $200, maybe more).

: As to your question, well- why not ask your Tech who will be repairing it, if he needs the S.M. to fix it? Perhaps he may already have the manual, but if not, it certainly could only be helpful to have one.
