I agree with Army. I have Sp 9000x series and some 2500's. Sansui's are hard to beat with their superb sensitivity and clarity...in amny of the horn units i believe. But I listen to classical and jazz mostly...running a Rotel amp and a Highes 100 unit. I have Avid, AR, Polk, Cerwin vega, JBL, Boston, Altec, Kenwood,Pioneer, Dyna's and a bunch more of other vintage speakers. NONE fetch the price of the 9000 series of sansui for a reason. Now if you want a heavy bass effect for rock and such..you may want another brand but..for vintage performers...sansui rocks quite well for me.

: I personally like the sound I get out of my SP-X9900's. Some people are very happy with Sansui speakers. That's why they sell for BIG $$$ on ePay. Others don't think they have what you would call an audiophile quality sound. It's a matter of personal taste. A lot has to do with what you drive them with. And what your willing to pay for a pair... The SP-X9900's are my second pair. I had a pair of SP-5500X's and they sounded great with a small wattage (26 watts)receiver. Both of the speaker pairs I've owned had 15" woofers or bigger. Haven't listen to any of the smaller models. There's my 2 cent... Army
