I just felt like someone scolded me :-)
My "problem" is that every single item/component in the equation is doing what it is supposed to do. And I did not mean "half" peak to peak = R.M.S. to mean anything significant.
The problem is that the bass starts to distory at higher volumes.
So anyway, to cut a long story short. I returned my cheapo 50W speakers and got new HK B6's rated at 150W. I also hooked up my technics equalizer to my cassette deck. And no more problems. Everything works just great.
Thanks for all your help. My real PROBLEM was I was trying to save money in the wrong place by getting those stupid 50 Watt speakers :-)
