As well as being a Sansui enthusiast, I am also an Infinity speaker enthusiast. I can tell you that the SM models Infinity's are very efficient speakers- they are made so that it does not take much amplifier power at all for the music to be heard Loud. So you do not have to be concerned about needing a powerful amp- the Sansui amp you have now is more than sufficient to drive the SM's. (This is also the case for most Sansui speakers as well) The SM model Infinity's are good for playing Loud music at parties- but they have a very poor reputation when it comes to being considered an "audiophile" speaker. The woofer might seem impressive at 15" in size- but the bass is muddy, flabby, and boomy-sounding. Not tight, fast, and clean -sounding as it should be. The "eyeball shaped" tweeter is not the famous EMIT tweeter design used in other, much better speakers made by Infinity. No Soundstage, no imaginmg/focus ability. I can not recommend the SM models Infinity as being a good speaker- other than for non-serious party type music listening. See the site: www.bobbyshred.com/infinity.html for more info on classic Infinity speakers.
