: So, I was driving home one day and noticed a tuner in the garbage, I picked it up, didn't think anything of it. I got home, then discovered I had made a nice find. Anyway the end was broken off the power cord, so I replaced it. In doing so I accidently had the positive and negative cables touching. When I plugged it in it flipped a fuse thing or whatever on the breaker (the house one). WHen I got it together again correctly only the right channel would work, nothing from the left. I'm not sure if it was working before this incedent though. Can anyone help. Perhaps a fuse, could someone with a manual tell me what fuses to check? THanks.

The problem is a bad dobly switch. It wears and does not make contact with the left channel. Either clean it thoroughly with the unit apart or eliminate the switch by jumping the wires to it equivalent to the 'off' position.
