That decibel drop switch is a funny thing. I have inadvertently flipped it on a time or two and wondered where the power went. Add a very linear volume knob that requires a lot of turn and a mute switch just below that which drops it another 20db and it seems Sansui was being extra careful with the power produced by this series.
