I have a AU-9900 which is the smaller brother of the 11000. 80 watts vs 120 but otherwise identical.

My 9900 has a laid back, smooth sound that is wonderful with vinyl and "east coast" sound type speakers. My current favorite speakers are some EPI 180's (4 ohm, two 8" woofers, two excellent tweeters in a large sealed cabinet: circa mid 70s) and some original Large Advents (early 70s). Mated with a AR XA (late 60s) turntable and shure V15 type II phono cartridge, this system makes CD's sound...wrong.

I also have a Sansui AU-717 (85 watts) that has a much more aggressive sound. Stronger, deeper, with an attack to the sound that works beutifully with classic rock. It too is a superb amp and works best with equally aggressive speakers like JBL L100s or Pioneer HPM's. Both of the late 70's vintage.

: I recently purchased a like new AU-11000 integrated. Anyone have any speaker suggestions ? I prefer to use speakers from the same vinatge. Thanks
