Richard: I am a Sansui enthusiast, but I think Sansui established their good reputation with the amplifiers, receivers, and tuners they made rather than with their loudspeakers. I had a pair of SP-X8700's for a while- huge 17" woofers, and many drivers- but while Sansui offers alot in their speakers, the actual sound quality from a hi fi standpoint, is so-so. Most Sansui speakers are very efficient and 8 ohms, so you dont need much amplifier power to drive them so that it takes much on the volume control to hear the music at a loud level. Ive heard it said from another very knowledgeable Sansui enthusiast that I know from Online that the best sounding Sansui speaker models were the SP-L800, and 700 models, which arent seen for sale too often. Personally, my taste in Loudspeakers is Infinity. A nice vintage site is: www.bobbyshred.com/infinity.html

Regards, B/F.
