As far as I am aware of, there arent any signs of cost-cutting in the AU-D11 II. The use of cheap plastic was seen more on their 80's receivers rather than their integrated amps- the integrateds utilized some rather sophisticated designs.
The AU-D11 that came before was very highly regarded in the reviews (Stereo Review magazine 6/81 & Audio 2/82), I have no reason to think the D11 II would be any different if not even better. The three other people that I know of who own D11 II's are very impressed and pleased with the amp.
If I didnt have as much Sansui hi fi gear as I already do (and no space left where its all set up- my basement) I would like to have an AU-D11 II also.
