: Hi all,

: I recently bought a pair of Sansui speakers that
: looked to be in excellent condition. I was unable
: to check them prior to purchasing them (the seller,
: who looked very "believable" assured me that they
: were working!).

: When I did hook them up to my amp at home, I found
: that one of the speakers had a dead woofer. I
: checked the driver and the connecting wires - they
: are fine. Seems like a problem within the woofer
: itself. The woofer is cosmetically perfect, but
: useless nonetheless.

: So, I am looking for a replacement woofer. Any soul
: out there who has a spare woofer and is willing to
: sell/donate it is kindly requested to contact me.

: Thanks and best regards.

: Andy

Hi Andy
Remove the Front Grill (small black screws in each corner) Remove the woofer and disconnect one of the wires. Check the coil if itīs open. If you donīt have a DMM (measuring device) you can use a 1.5V Battery. If the cone moves in or out the coil is good. If not check the woofer type model (printed on rear side of magnet. You van read something like W-???. When have the model number itīs easier to find a replacement.
