Today I picked up a 5000A with a black metal case for $30 at a thrift store. Seems to be in great condition - even has the clear blue protective tape around the front silver casing edges! At the store it I could only get 1 FM station but the AM came in alright. Hoping it was just a location / antenna problem. I'll play around more with it tonight.
Was there a service update about the 5000A? I thought I saw something somewhere?
