: Hi Jarek
: AU-317 sounds good as well as AU-317 II but
: AU-519 is an Amp belonging to the famous xx9 series. The big brother AU-919 has a reputation to be one of the best sounding amps during 70īs and itīs Tuner TU-919 to be one of the best in the world.See ranking up to 12 from http://www.fmtunerinfo.com/shootouts.html
: Rankings after Shootout #74:

: 4: -C- Audiolab 8000T - Good bass, natural but diffuse sound, sweet extended highs.
: 5: -C- Philips AH6731 - A very natural, neutral sound. Stereo separation best with a good signal.
: 6: -C- Revox B760 - Great bass, lifelike midrange and extended highs.

: 7: -M- Kenwood KT-5020 - Great bass and midrange and extended, sweet treble. Again, why pay more?

: 10: -M- Meridian Model 504 - Good bass, excellent midrange with smooth, just-right highs.
: 11: -M- Kenwood L-1000T - Good bass, punchy midrange, sweet extended highs.
: 12: -M- Sansui TU-X701 - Great-sounding midrange, bass OK, softer highs next to the L-02T.
:;Hi Sten,
Your listing is very nice and very informative!!
Just want to add information on AU-xx9 series (DD/DC), Here is our observation:
1. AU-919 sounds GREAT! very well define/natural especially on background instruments, it's like perfect but no loudness switch to compensate on higher bass and highs at low volume.
2. AU-819 very near to 919 and has a loudness switch, with clear and sweet highs, natural soft bass but slightly lower to 519 bass, more on equalizer adjustment if needed.
3. AU-519 bass is soft solid punch we feel real on drums and good highs even at low volume but not as define as the 919/819 but the use of equalizer (SE-7 one of the best model) gets nearer to it, one thing it's only 70 Watts rms per channel during gathering we hook to BA-2000 for more drive (hope it's a BA-5000!).
4. AU-xx7 (85 watts) my first sansui, but I prefer to use the DD/DC series, this unit is also good and powerful.
Thanks, Arsenio
