: Anyone know how to operate this machine AU-519? It doesn't operate like my AU-7900 and that concerns me. When I turn it on the red power light blinks for 3-5 second then I hear a clink and it stays steady red. I haven't hooked anything up to it yet because I don't understand all the study on the back of the unit. Also, any idea as to value.

: Thanks,

: Mike

Hi Mike,
This AU-519 is a 70WPC/8 ohms with 0.008%thd, DC to 400,000hz +0db-3db freq. response.Damping factor 100. Back is a 360 watts (rated consumption) Max. 580 watts. This is the smallest brother of AU-919. Sounds great with powerfull bass. Red light will blink for few seconds then steady, it shows protector is working well without detecting abnormal voltage or current at the output stage for speaker protection, followed by clicking sound from relay, contact for spkr is ready for operation. A switch on the back shows 3 function:
1)connected- internal control amp (preamp)is directly connected to it's main ampl. and this is the normal use ready to sound
2) Separated- you can either hookup the preamp or main ampl separately vice versa to another main or preamp, or equalizer. Both preamp and main ampl on this position is disconnected > no sound on the spkr.
3) capacitor coupled- Capacitor is connected at the input of the units power ampl.to eliminate DC components entering the main ampl. (also no sound on this position) its another protector feature. Both No. 2 & no.3 position when hook to equalizer I dont notice sound difference. Unit must be off when selecting this position and this switch is a problematic when it becomes dirty sounds goes and off and has to be cleaned.
All other RCA terminals are normal to amplifier. As to value no Idea.

Regards, Arsenio
