In Reply to: How much is a Sansui 1000A in original perfect condition worth? posted by Dan Burres on September 19, 2004 at 17:19:43:
A mint 1000A in perfect working condition usually fetches between $75 - $175 at auction. It is a good receiver, but not very popular amoung the audio crowd because of its complex tone control and filter circuitry (some believe these foul up the sound).
Most of these original units need rebuilt, I rebuild at least two of them in a month. They are pretty reliable. The original Toshiba 7591 tubes are not the most reliable, and tend to arc over and fail.
