That model does date back to the early 70's, I have a Model Eight that was made in 1971. The Six is two models below. The controls and switches certainly do have a substantial feel to them when you turn them :) Also interesting is how the tuner display goes off when you switch the Function selector to a non-radio position such as Aux (to play cd's for example, if you have a cd player conected to the Aux input) - not sure if the Model Six also has this feature as the Eight does.

The Eight also has a detachable ac line cord. Dunno why, as they commonly seem to get lost over time, and its not exactly easy to find the right size substitute cord for it nowadays.

I also find it somewhat unusual that Sansui used single digit names for these models, its something thats unique to just these models as far as I know.
