I asked the same question about a year ago about my AU-9900 and the AU-9900A.

The only difference seems to be the 10db - 20db drop switch behind the volume knob. On my AU-9900 the switch is there; on the AU-9900A it's not.

The AU series are excellent, high quality of integrated amps.

Can't say if it is a better sounding unit than the Yamaha. Sound is a very subjective subject and what may sound great on my system to my ears may not be to your liking. After listening to the very neutral sounding Sansui's, the high quality Yamaha's sound much "brighter" to me. It's all a matter of personal preference. Listen to the Sansui for a few days and then decide for yourself.

: Could anyone tell me the difference between the Sansui AU-11000 and AU-11000A.

: Are these a decent unit. I really like the looks but the sound great.

: My current receiver is a Yamaha CR-2040 would the 11000 be a better sounding unit.
