G-8700 DB Problem

I have a G-8700DB that pumped out power without effort until today. Heard a pop while it was on and smelled a little smoke. The protector light kicked in flashing away and I ran over and turned the unit off.
Any ideas as to what fried on it?

Also, a problem with the power meters...as long as the unit is powered on, the left channel's meter light stays pegged at 160 and the right channel stays at 0.

I have a 8080DB that I bought new in '77. It had a similar problem about 20 years ago. The protector light kept flashing due to a bad power supply. Had it fixed and its been great ever since.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
