I am wondering if those people who are interested in the amp, are confusing it with the BA-3000 (note the A in the model number) that was made in the 70's. Although, if there are photos of the amp on your site, and those people have seen them, then they should be able to see the difference between the two models.

Actually, I just bought a B-3000 along with its matching preamp, the C-1000, and tuner, T-1000. Bought it on Ebay for next-to-nothing: $45 + shipping for all 3 pieces. I have enough Sansui's in my collection and didnt really need these, but Hey- the price was too good to pass up!

The actual rms wattage of the B-3000 is 120 Watts. It was made in the late 80's. Those made in late '87 and afterward have the newer Sansui logo on them.

As for its quality: well....., I have already written about these combo-rack system type Sansui models before (scroll down this message board back to 12/6/02 and my response to Alan). Overall, they are decent, but there are signs of cost-cutting- the cheap plastic case for one, - Sansui built other model amps which were much more ruggedly designed. As you can see on the label in the back of the B-3000, these cheaper models were Made in Taiwan.

I think for avg use, they are ok, but nothing special and they dont sell for alot of money when they appear for sale on Ebay from time to time.

The B-3000 has come up in the discussions on www.audiokarma.org in the 'Exclusively Sansui' section, I had posted a photo from a Sansui catalog of the whole B-3000 rack system and its matching components which can be found if you do a Search in the Archived Messages.
