Thanks very much for your observations. I auditioned the AU-70, hooking it up to a pair of Wharfedale 8.3s. While not yet broken in, I found the AU-70 quite meaty-sounding yet a bit "wooly" in the bass. I still haven't decided on getting it and am trying out other amps in the meantime. One thing I will say though is that for a 40-year old amp it blows away a lot of the modern stuff you can buy today (asking price is about C$290).
