If the amp was unused for so long time, the first suspect thing are the filter capacitors (the biggest ones, usually 2-4)- they are dryed or leak. The best cure for that is to replace all of them, which is not so difficult. Sansui uses mainly Nichicon (Great Supply or KG type II or III), but these days there are also other manufacturers with excellent caps, depending of the amount of money you will spent. Some of these are Elna (Cerafine), EPCOS/Siemens (Sikorel series), BHC Aerovox (ALS 30/31) etc.
If you are not familiar with DIY, it is better to do by some experienced- usually when opned once, it is good idea to change all caps, trimmers and to resolder PCB's.
