The 80 watts is the rms (average) rating that most audio products are rated at.

I am sure these models you picked up should perform adequately- usually if theyre found in the garbage, it means that the owner encountered a problem with them and didnt want to bother to have it fixed, so if everything works fine on yours, its a plus, and so much the better. Certainly, the price is right :)

I think for regular music listening, its ok. Sansui made more expensive products which were alot more substantially built- the combo rack models are a bit too "plasticky", but as I mentioned already, for avg music listening, it should be ok.
