HELP - how long to initialize new dvd-rw on a vrdvd4005

Hi,

I've just put my first blank dvd-rw in and it started initializing as it should. The first 95% went by in seconds. It now hasn't progressed in about 20 minutes. Is this normal? How long should it take?
