Mike, I have a B-2101 amp and that is the way the protector works. You press the power button and the protect light comes on. The protector circuit activates the speaker relays along with a AC power relay.

: I have an opportunity to pick up a B-2101 power amp at a very reasonable cost. I turned the amp on and the protector light activated, the light then went out approximately 30 seconds later, though the amp remained "on." Unfortunately, the amp isn't working and I'm not sure it would be worth fixing. Does anyone have an idea as to what might be causing the protection circuitry to immediately activate?
