The Driver can be rated lower than the Speaker.
You also have a Crossover and the Driver is located inside the cabinet which will give you other figures for Speaker Wattage Rating.
: Hello SANSUI followers
: I recently bought at bargain price a nice vintage Sansui stereo system ( receiver 7070, SR-838 turntable, SP-X6000 speakers) from a web seller.
: All the drivers are blown and the seller told me he had to fix some of them a few months ago because these receiver is able to play so loud.
: In order to fix them We disassembled all the drivers and check one by one. We discovered that drivers are 6 Ohm impedance but rated to 35w. The SP-X6000 are rated 100 W maximum so I am concerned about the real watt capacity of my speakers ( they don’t have any protection) I can replace the drivers for a larger watt capacity but my speakers loss its “original condition”… please advice
