Dear fellow sansuite:

I own numerous vintage mint sansui pieces including a sansui illuminated sign, a sansui 9090db in mint condition (with original dolby tag on knob), and a sansui 9090db as a parts unit in very good conidition however the fuses requrie replacement and the fm front end alignment.

I utlize the 9090db as a tuner and preamp and a mcintosh mc2105 amp, along with a beautiful revox b225, an audio control c101, a dual cs5000 tt, and a sony dvp-s570d first generation (all silver made in japan) dvd player. I am running these components via reconed and recabineted ads l-810 vintage speakers. You could say I enjoy vintage audio.

I wanted to your opinions (serious, and frank) on my current set-up. From time to time the 9090db suffers from weakening soldering connections (loose connection causing loss of channel on occassion). This is corrected via wiggling the selector. How could this happen to a $1000+ plus receiver of it's time?

I listen to 100's of dvd's as well as vinyl. Should I trade my vintage equipment and sell my soul to the devil and purchase the current highend gear?

Please advise.
Thanks in advance and happy new year.
