The 9090 (and 8080) were introduced by Sansui for the 1976 model year. the 9090DB and 8080 DB were introduced for the 1977 model year. The DB models have a little bit more wattage, the 8080 is 80 watts, the 8080DB is 85W. The 9090 is rated 110W, the 9090DB was top-of-the-line at 125W.
