: : Your amplifier should have more then enough current to run your 2 ohms(?) speakers. I am really amazed that it can drive a 2 ohm load.

: : : Hello to all the International Sansui Aficionado on this web site.

: : : I own (along with other audio gear) a Sansui AU-X901
: : : From reading the information on this web site it would seem that this model was known by another designation in Japan.
: : : My question to the forum.
: : : From the specs its claimed to have 130 watts Rms into 8 ohms. However they also show Dynamic Power ratings-
: : : 410 watts into 2 ohms
: : : 390 watts into 4 ohms
: : : 225 watts into 8 ohms

: : : Can anyone tell me how to figure out the Power Output so I can know how many Amps this unit can generate.
: : : I ask because my speakers require a "High Current Amp".
: : : Any advice, information, comments welcome about this particular Sansui model. Very difficult to find any onfo on the Web.

: : : Au revoir

:
: I am not sure of where you got your specs. but my data sheet only lists that the unit is able to handle 4 to 16 ohm loads and is rated at 130 watts rms note: the impedance switch involved in speaker selection will affect power by not showing the amp the correct speaker load you could overdrive the output for higher power but this could bake it!!

: I have used Sansui amps for driving my Cerwin Vega 3-way cabs and a set of yorkville cabs it has enough power that I have never gone beyond 3/4 of the the dial but I have cooked a Au 919 when someone unplugged a electronic flute while my mixer was still feeding the amp ( smoke and then bang!_
